While votes kept being counted in battleground states Tuesday morning, in Knox County the vote count was in.

A reliably Republican voter base stayed that way and only two Democrats won in Knox County during Tuesday night’s election.

President Donald Trump won Knox County over former Vice President Joe Biden, according to unofficial election results. Former U.S. Ambassador Bill Hagerty took the county over Democratic challenger Marquita Bradshaw and U.S. Rep. Tim Burchett held his seat against Democratic challenger Renee Hoyos in a rematch, according to unofficial election results.

In local state races, Eddie Mannis, Republican candidate, beat Virginia Couch, Democratic candidate, for Tennessee House of Representatives District 18. Mannis will be a first-term representative.

State Rep. Gloria Johnson, D-Knoxville, held off a challenge for her Tennessee House District 13 race to Elaine Davis.

State Rep. Becky Duncan Massey, R-Knoxville, held off a challenge by Jane George to keep her House District 6 seat, according to unofficial election results.
