Missing woman sought
Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a woman who has been reported missing.
Lan Nguyen, 29, was reported missing on Monday. She was was last seen at her apartment complex, Aventine Northshore, on Monday afternoon, according to investigators from the Knoxville Police Department’s Special Crimes Unit.
“Nguyen’s personal belongings were still inside of her apartment, while her vehicle is still at the apartment complex. Nguyen is approximately 5’5” and 115 pounds with black hair,” said a statement issued by the agency.

One killed, one seriously injured in car crash
One person was killed and another seriously injured in a Tuesday morning crash on Interstate 40 in East Knox County, authorities said.
The crash took place about 10:25 a.m. on I-40 at McMillan Road.
“Based on the preliminary investigation at the scene, a vehicle was traveling on I-40 West when it lost control, crossed on to I-40 East and struck a vehicle traveling eastbound. The two occupants of the westbound vehicle were transported to an area hospital, where one was pronounced deceased and the other remains in critical condition,” said Knoxville Police Department spokesperson Scott Erland.
“The occupant of the eastbound vehicle was transported to an area hospital with non-critical injuries,” he said.
The identity of the victim was being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin, he continued, and Crash Reconstruction experts were investigating the collision.
