Pedestrian seriously injured in North Knox hit-and-run


A pedestrian was seriously injured Monday night in a hit-and-run crash in North Knoxville.

The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. at Washington Pike near Broadway, authorities said. A man, who is not being identified, was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, according to a Knoxville Police Department press release.

Investigators said the man was walking in the crosswalk on Washington Pike toward the Pilot gas station when he was struck. The car was described as an older model red Chevrolet Cobalt.

The vehicle has not been found and the driver has not been located, police said.
