A woman was taken to UT Medical Center from a gunshot wound and a school bus with three people inside was struck by bullets in the latest shooting incident in Knoxville.
Police said around 2:45 p.m. Knoxville officers responded to the intersection of North Central Street and Atlantic Avenue on a report of a shooting victim.
A woman, unidentified, was in a car that had crashed near Compass Heating & Air.
The woman was unresponsive and had been shot.
She was taken to UT Medical Center with critical life threatening injuries, authorities said.
A man in the car was not injured.
A Knox County school bus with three people inside was struck by one bullet. There were no injuries, police said.
The investigation is ongoing and no suspects have been identified. This is the fourth shooting incident in Knoxville since Friday. Two of the incidents involved Austin-East students.
